Brief description: 

Thanks to high-resolution ultrasound imaging and other technological advances in recent years, many of the fascia-related insights and observations of A.T. Still and of other osteopathic pioneers could be objectively confirmed. In addition, new discoveries will be shared in this webinar, which include the influence of different binding properties of hyaluronan and its influence on tissue densification and fibrosis, the influence of PIEZO2 receptors on proprioception and idiopathic scoliosis, the expression of fasciacytes and telocytes in different fascial tisssues, and the pro- and anti-inflammatory effects of different modalities of mechanical tissue stimulation. Finally, suggestions will be shared how to stay up-to-date on the rapid advances in this dynamic international field. 

Introducing our Presenter:

Robert Schleip, PhD, is internationally recognised as one of the world’s leading fascia researchers.

Before becoming a full-time scientist, he worked for more than 20 years as a practitioner and instructor of the Rolfing® Method of Structural Integration and the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education.

He is Director of the Fascia Research Group (Technical University of Munich and Ulm University, Germany), Founding Director of the Fascia Research Society, and Research Director of the European Rolfing Association.

His academic credentials include a PhD in Human Biology, a Master’s degree in Psychology, and more than 100 peer-reviewed scientific publications.

His research on active fascial contractility received the Vladimir Janda Award for Musculoskeletal Medicine.
