The College was co-founded by Robert and Christine Granter in Melbourne Australia.

This is the home of The Australasian College of Soft Tissue Therapy which has been providing Excellence in the Provision of Post Graduate Education to the Soft Tissue Therapy & Movement and Rehabilitation Industry since 1995.

Rob Granter

Providing excellence in all aspects of Soft Tissue therapy and education ….

has been Rob’s passion throughout his 35 year career.  His driving force has been to see all forms of Soft Tissue therapy get greater recognition & acceptance by the wider Medical community.

Early 1985

Providing excellence in all aspects of Soft Tissue therapy and education has been Rob’s passion throughout his 35 year career.  His driving force has been to see all forms of Soft Tissue therapy get greater recognition & acceptance by the wider Medical community.

Rob’s qualifications are a Degree in Social Science from Deakin University and an Advanced Diploma in Myotherapy from RMIT University. He has written curriculum & taught in Myotherapy and Remedial Massage programs since 1988 at the Southern School of Natural Therapies, RMIT University and the Melbourne Institute of Massage & Myotherapy. 

He, along with partner Christine created the Australasian College of Soft Tissue Therapy in 1995 to provide Post Graduate education to the Soft Tissue Therapy industry.

His career and experiences have included being head of Soft Tissue Therapy / Myotherapy for: 

  • 2 Olympic Games with the Australian team (1996 Atlanta USA & 2000 Sydney Australia)
  • 1 Commonwealth Games with the Australian team (1998 Kuala Lumpur Malaysia)
  • 1 Commonwealth Games as the Chief therapist and head of the recovery centre of the entire Athlete village (Melbourne 2006)
  • Victorian Institute of Sport (1996 – 2007 Melbourne)
  • Essendon AFL Football team (1998 – 2004 Melbourne)
  • Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre (1989 – 1996 Melbourne

Rob’s Contributions

Rob is one of the few authors that have contributed to every edition of the best selling Brukner & Khan textbook Clinical Sports Medicine now in its 5th edition.

Rob was also a locum therapist at the Australian Ballet (1994 – 2000), a member of the medical support team for the Australian Olympic team to Barcelona in 1992 and was the Australian Institute of Sport, Soft Tissue Therapist for Victorian Based Scholarship Holders (1991 – 1995)

The athletes that Rob has worked with include:

  • Australian Olympic swimmers Nicole Livingstone, Michael Klim, Daniel Kowalski and Mat Welsch (15 Olympic medals between them)
  • Australian Paralympic Track athletes John Lindsay, Don Elgin & Tim Matthews (18 Paralympic medals between them)
  • Australian Track & Field Olympians Debbie Fintoff King (Gold) Tim Forsyth (Bronze) Rohan Robinson World Junior Champion, Com Games Silver Medallist & Dual Olympian
  • Australian Aerial Skiers Jacqui Cooper (5 time World Champion) Alisa Camplin & Lydia Lassila (Both Olympic Gold Medallists)
